The Admin team would like to thank the members who camped all weekend and the day visitors who braved terrible wet weather on Saturday to support our show at Crich Tramway Museum.
Despite the weather more cars arrived than we had expected; it was also great to meet some new members for the first time. We can’t mention everyone but special thanks must go to John Ticehurst and Giles Anderson who drove up from Essex, Anthony Osborne and wife Pat who brought the 1938 Austin 12 New Ascot on Saturday and returned on Sunday with their MGB, Lincoln Hunt who attended both days despite working a night shift the previous nights, Phil Allin for creating Sunday’s route and providing printed route maps for everyone, and Phil Gunn who surprised us all in a stunning 1937 Alvis, our oldest tour car to date which performed admirably against much more modern machinery.
The museum staff were very touched that everyone waived the free entrance fee, instead opting to pay full ticket price; our little touring section put some much needed pounds in the coffers.
Roll on the Oatcake tour!
