Press Release. This year’s popular London to Brighton Classic Car Run will wave goodbye to current owners GE Classic Motor Events and welcome new owners Pop-Up Car Shows Ltd. Stephen and Sandra Smith are retiring after the Classic Car, Kit & Sports Car and Modern Classics Runs, which are held on Sunday 29th May 2022. They will work with the new owners to ensure a smooth transition, keeping the same high standards and friendly atmosphere of the event.
The London to Brighton Runs will be the first event for Pop Up Car Shows but not for owners Andrea Seed and Abby Green. Andrea is best known as one of the organisers of the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, Race Retro and other major classic car events. She has also been involved in runs and rallies including the Flying Scotsman and Peking to Paris Motor Challenge. Abby has recently joined the classic motoring community but has a raft of events and organisational experience. Andrea said: Abby and I are so proud to be the new owners and thrilled that Stephen and Sandra are working with us for their final year. We have exciting plans for more events in a similar format around the UK, which will be announced in the coming weeks. For 2022, to remain in accordance with the DVLA Historic Car Classification, the 33rd Classic Car Run will welcome all classic and vintage vehicles registered before 31st May 1982.
The Modern Classics Run, which launched last year, returns and is open to all vehicles manufactured between 1st June 1982 and 31st December 2002. The Kit & Sports Cars Run celebrates its 21st year and, with no age limits on entries, replica cars are also welcome to join the fun. The three runs will all start from Brooklands Museum before splitting into different routes. Each route will enjoy a different stopping point including the Rural Life Living Museum, Parham House & Gardens, and The Wings Museum. The final destination will be Brighton’s iconic Madeira Drive, the finish point for the famous Veteran Car Run.

Please note that it is not the volume of nominations received for a particular person or club that counts, but the quality of each nomination. Tell us what makes this individual, event, content or club special.
Nominations close at 23:59 on Sunday 31 October 2021. And following 2020’s virtual awards, we hope to return with an in-person ceremony at the NEC Classic Motor Show in Birmingham on 12 November, where we will also choose the best cars and club stands in the halls, to show our appreciation for the great British car club community.
