2020 Classic Motor Show postponed

21/9/2020

A message from Lee Masters, Show Director
Picture
It is with great sadness that I announce to you today that we have decided there is no alternative but to postpone the 2020 edition of the show, despite pulling out all the stops to try and make the annual season finale happen.

Having been given the greenlight by government for organised events to resume from 1 October, we were so excited at the prospect of bringing the community back together, with all our COVID-secure measures in place to create a safe and controlled environment for all involved
Although the latest government update hasn’t changed this possibility, it is currently under review and has created uncertainty for both our exhibitors and visitors. Add to this the prospect of local lockdowns still being in place and the communities’ understandable concern about what an indoor event experience will be, even with all the precautions we’re putting in place, we have taken this difficult decision.
As a team, we are extremely disappointed having done everything within our power to try and make the show happen. We want to thank all our partners, clubs, exhibitors, visitors and suppliers who have supported our endeavours to bring the show to you this year.

While we won’t be coming together as a motoring community this year within the halls of the NEC, to celebrate the classics we love, we will continue to share stories, memories and news across our digital platforms.

Silverstone Auctions will also continue as scheduled with what is due to be their biggest and best sale yet.
We understand that this will be a disappointment to many people who eagerly await the Classic Motor Show each year and we look forward to when we can get together again.

We would particularly like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the clubs and their members who, despite the current situation, were willing to support the show this November. To be fair to everyone, we will be inviting all clubs to reapply to be a part of the Classic Motor Show 12-14 November 2021. Further details will be issued later in the Autumn by Alison Judge, our club coordinator, but please get the dates in your diaries and start thinking about how to make next year a bumper show!

There will be a time when #WheelMeetAgain

Motor Cars, Automobilia and Related Spares This Saturday

We have cars from a 1901 Renault to a 1987 Ferrari and a lot in between so this sale is well worth a look. We are delighted to be offering a private collection of Veteran and Edwardian cars, in addition to many exciting sports cars from the 1960s and 1970s.
Viewing by appointment on Wednesday 16th, Thursday 17th and Friday 18th 10am-5pm, plus sale day from 8.00am with the sale starting at 9am.
Entry is by catalogue £10 - available on the door.
VIEW CATALOGUE
This Saturday the 19th we are offering 60 motor cars and 670 lots of related spares and automobilia at our new venue Showell Farm, near Chippenham, SN15 2NU. This is our new permanent site, which we plan to develop over time, however at this stage the sales will be held in a marquee until development work begins.
These are far from normal times but we are delighted to offer the opportunity to view and even attend the sale. This email will provide all the information you require so do take a moment to read right to the end!

Viewing

We have advertised that the sale may be viewed on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th by appointment, but we will extend this to Wednesday 17th also. Please do get in touch to book a time slot, in order for us to maintain social distancing.

Sale day

We intend to hold this as a live sale, bidding will be available by many methods, absentee bidding, telephone bidding, online bidding (through the-saleroom.com) and also we will be having limited bidding in person. In order to maintain social distancing we would ask that any prospective buyers pre-register to book their slot at the sale, please email your details so we can book you in, this does not necessarily guarantee your place, we will then confirm your place, with your paddle number.
Please tell us if you would like to come to bid on the spares or the cars or both, please don't say both just to be an observer, as space is limited and we want to ensure that all buyers in the relevant sections have the opportunity to bid
We certainly don’t wish to be exclusive and would rather open the doors to all, but for the safety of our customers and staff, we need to ensure that social distancing is maintained and limiting numbers is the only way we can achieve this. Do not leave this to the day, anyone who arrives without having pre-registered will unfortunately be turned away. If for any reason you decide not to attend, once booked in, please do not take the opportunity away from someone else and let us know so we can offer your place to our waiting list.

vendors

We would ask that unless you are planning to bid on a lot or lots, we would sadly ask that you do not attend. This is not our normal practice and we apologise in advance, but our aim is to achieve the best possible price for you by maximising the attendance of bidders. The sale can be viewed live through www.the-saleroom.com

You will still receive a warm welcome from us, albeit through a mask, and we are thrilled to be able to bring to the market some wonderful machinery.
The cars are on our website, link below, and the spares are on www.the-saleroom.com
Please note that we can no longer receive payment by credit card or cheque but debit card, cash (up to £8,800) and our preferred payment method of bank transfer will all enable immediate collection.
Hauliers and short-term storage available, please discuss this with us.
We look forward to seeing you,
From all the R.E.A.L team
