Officially the UK’s fastest growing classic car event, over 21,000 enthusiasts flocked to the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show with Discovery in 2017, bringing together all aspects of classic motoring. From barn finds discovered after many years of storage and those project cars that have stalled in an owner’s garage, to restorations just getting back on the road and those pristine marques with gleaming brightwork and proud as punch owners.
The 2017 Classic Car & Restoration Show was the first major show where we had a club stand, and we will return bigger and better at the 2018 show! In 2017 more clubs than ever before showcased club vehicles in everything from 'barn-finds' through to concours condition. Over 130 clubs attended the 2017 event, and we will be among over 150 lined up for 2018!
About our club stand - Hall 5, Pitch #800
We were delighted to be allocated a large stand in Hall 5 at this show, and as a result will be displaying no less than 7 owners vehicles. Not only do we want to celebrate the diversity of the groups ownership but also its a big thank you to those who have supported the group for a long time.
Here are the members vehicles that will grace our stand - we're really excited to have such a great line-up! Our sincere thanks to all of the proud owners for making what is a fairly major commitment to present their vehicles for three days. Also thanks to others who didnt quite make the final cut - better luck next time!
We will also be featuring our own version of the Top Gear Cool Wall, showing pictures of members vehicles around the world to highlight our global membership. More entries are wanted for this - click here to submit yours if you own a pre-85 British classic and live outside the UK.
What else will I see at the show?

Following this year's hugely successful event organised by group member Thomas Jenkins, a second charity event will be held again at the Maesteg Celtic Rugby club and grounds - and this time it will be even bigger and better!
Thomas says there will be hot food available, a licensed bar, an auto jumble, children's entertainment with a bouncy castle and face painting, not forgetting of course a wide range of classic vehicles.
This event made the local press in 2017 and they are keen to follow it again. Despite a very healthy turnout of vehicles from the local area only 3 of our members attended - myself, Mike Peake and Brian Allison who came all the way from Ireland! (Give that man a fish - Ed)
This is a charity fundraising show in aid of The Stroke Association - a very worthy cause chosen by Thomas after his Nan unfortunately suffered a series of strokes - and we would love for more of our near 19,000 members to come along and support the efforts of 16yo Thomas. You don't have to own a classic - just come along for the day and enjoy some genuine Welsh hospitality.
For more of an insight and an idea of what to expect, you can read Mike Peake's account of his visit to the 2017 event by clicking here.
Keen to go?
If you plan to attend, please click on "Going" in the Event listing in our Facebook group (click here to access the listing) so that Gar and Thomas have an idea of how many to expect on the day.

As previously announced, we are excited to have our very first stand at the UK's biggest classic motor show. Held at Birmingham's NEC from 10-12 November, there will be in excess of 2,500 classic cars and motorbikes covering over one million square feet – that’s about 12 football pitches!
The most diverse mix of marques will be showcased by 240 classic car and bike clubs from across the UK, displaying rare and loved classics that span more than 100 years. As well as a fantastic number of vehicles, you can also visit the UK’s biggest indoor Autojumble, a haven of parts and spares for anyone working on their car, as well as 650 specialist exhibitors and traders, offering a mix of products and services.
With stunning classics, fantastic features, motoring celebrities and much more, this is the must-attend event of the classic calendar and a truly magnificent season finale!

There was a fantastic response to the appeal for cars to display on our stand and firstly we want to thank all those who offered their pride and joy to represent the group. The stand we have been allocated is fairly small unfortunately and can only accommodate three cars, so some hard choices had to be made.
Congratulations to the three proud owners and their cars selected, which are:
We are sorry we couldn't accept all the cars offered as you did us proud with some cracking classics, but sadly there simply isn't the space for any more. Thanks again and commiserations to those not selected - better luck next time.
Photographs of the winning cars are below - we are sure you will agree they will do us proud on our first appearance at this prestigious show.
Finding our stand
Our stand will be in Hall 4, stand #490 - plan below.

Group member Pete Curran has after much negotiation got us an event at the Shackleton Trust 10:00-16:00 on 22 July 2017.
They have a fully running Shackleton bomber which will be ( subject to serviceability ) run for us on the day ( four 37 litre Griffin V12 's at full chat ). We will also have access to a Nimrod, later in the day with plenty of photo opportunities with our cars and the aircraft.
More info about the Shackleton Trust is on their web site: www.avroshackleton.co.uk
The adjacent Midlands Air Museum will also be open and you are welcome to visit that too while on site (separate entrance fee applies).
British and Foreign Classic Motors Welcome
This will be the first joint meet to include both our groups - Enthusiasts of British Motor Vehicles and Pre Millennial Motor Vehicles, so everything is welcome - British or foreign - providing it's built before the year 2000.
We will keep each group's motors slightly apart to preserve good photo opportunities for the individual groups.
Entry is just £7 per car which goes direct towards the fuel in the Shackleton. Come along and show us what you own.
Please complete the short Registration Form below so we know you are coming.
Shackleton Trust, West Entrance, Coventry Road, Baginton, CV8 3AZ
The Trust is located near Baginton Village on Rowley Road, adjacent to the northern boundary of Coventry Airport, south of the A45. It's easy to find and the adjacent Midland Air Museum is well signposted from the A45. Once on the road between the A45 roundabout and Baginton village you can't miss it.

Hello fine people of the group.
I have glad tidings for an event in 2017. Have you heard of the very fine Gloucester Vintage and Country Extravaganza held near Cirencester? No? Wow! You must have done something really bad to be locked up that long! It is a vast 3 day show taking in Classic, Vintage and Veteran cars, Steam Traction Engines and stationary engines, working steam saw mills, classic motorbikes, commercials, busses, military vehicles, tractors, industrial trucks ….basically, if it’s old, oily and got wheels it’s here. There is also lots and lots for the family including a vintage fair ground, Animal shows, craft fairs, traders, remote control model aircraft and tank displays, licensed bars, food outlets and lots, lots more.
In short, it is heaven on earth people. Check out the clicky linky thing below: www.glosvintageextravaganza.co.uk
And the glad tidings? I would very much like to book a group pitch and I need your help to fill it. If you sign up to be on the group stand at this wonders of the world event, it is all FREE! YES! FREE! Even FREE on site camping with the luxury of toilets AND showers!!
However, it depends on you. I need a definite commitment of who wants to attend. I need a core of about 10 vehicles whose owners are prepared to attend at least 2 of the days but preferably all 3 in order to receive priority in which groups/clubs get a pitch. However, there is room for up to 30 cars on the application form. You can attend only one day if you wish, but the show is so big that it is very hard work to get round it all in just a day. So go on, you know you want to join in the camping and stay at least 2 days. (There are also plenty of B&B’s in the area) I even promise to bring a boot full of my “award winning” lemon drizzle cake.
This glorious event is being held on Friday 4th, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th August 2017.
If you don’t want to miss out on this once in a lifetime (ok, year) opportunity, please PM me with the make, model and registration of the car you will bring, along with which days you would like to attend and whether you want a camping pitch. Oh, a driver and passenger get in for free with every registered car and dogs are welcomed.
Your car will have to be in display position before 10 AM and will not be allowed to leave until 5PM. From visiting in previous years, it would appear that this rule is strictly enforced.
Did I mention there will be licensed bars and cake?

Welcome to the eighth annual Didsbury and South Manchester Car and Motorbike Show 2017.
Didsbury and South Manchester Car show 2010 was the first car show to be held in Didsbury. Situated in leafy Didsbury Park, the show had around 80 cars on display. The show has grown since then to host more than 150 cars each year.
The show will run again in 2017 on Sunday 9 July 2017 in Didsbury Park from 11.00am to 5.00pm.
We have our own group pitch booked so we can all park and socialise together. Please note the show's theme this year is 'Cars with character' and is not restricted to pre 85 British - so you can show off anything interesting you own.
It is free to enter if your pre registered. Please go onto www.didsburycarshow.org.uk and fill in your details; all funds raised on the day are for the UK poverty charity run by Oxfam.
The show will be held in Didsbury Park, Didsbury, Manchester.
Vehicle owners will need to enter the park down Sandhurst Road.
For GPS smartphones, these coordinates 53.413800, -2.226763 will put you at the correct park entrance.
For traditional SAT NAV then M205LR will take you to Sandhurst Road and there you will be directed by a member of the show crew (wearing high vis vests).

We have very kindly been invited to share a pitch at this year's Pride of Longbridge show by the West Midlands Classic Car Owners Club.
There are 10 spaces available; if you're going to the show and would like to park with other group members rather than just a random spot then come and join us!
How do I book a space?
Just send a private message on Facebook to either group member Rob P Turner or myself (Gar Cole) giving your name, car details and number plate.
What cars can take part in the rally?
The event is primarily celebrating cars built at Longbridge but allows anything British built in 2004 or earlier at Longbridge or Oxford.
