New on our official YouTube channel comes "2022 Peak District Tour ft. British classic cars", which features members of our two clubs, Enthusiasts of British Motor Vehicles Built Before 1985 and Pre-Millennial Motors filmed with their classics on tour in and around the stunning Peak District of Derbyshire in England.

​The tour took place on Saturday 14 May 2022 and was based at the Middlehills Farm campsite near Matlock. Cars on the tour included an MG RV8, an MGB roadster, an MGB GT, three Ford Granadas, a Capri, a MK1 Mondeo, an Austin Cambridge, an Opel Manta, a JC Midge, a Rover P5b, a Humber Sceptre, a Ford Consul Capri, a Morris Minor and a Range Rover.

​The group convoy passes the gorgeous Errwood reservoir in the Goyt Valley and cruises through the stunning countryside of the Peak District with the picturesque towns and villages found there which include Matlock and Buxton.

Our 2022 Peaks Revisited Tour over the weekend of 7-9 May was a huge success. A great turnout and we were blessed with (mostly) perfect touring weather in the gorgeous Peak District. A great time was had by all.

​A large number of photos and video footage has come out of the weekend and it will take a while to create a full length tour video - so in the meantime here's a quick preview taster for what's to come.

The late Ian Hope owned the British Car Museum in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. One day 5 or 6 years ago I went to visit Ian and found him very excited about his latest acquisition, a 1937 Ford Model Y. I'd never seen one before, so he scampered off excitedly before driving it along the road outside his museum buildings, bringing it to a stop with a merry 'toot toot' beside me. Filming it was unplanned - I happened to have my camera with me and quickly started shooting as Ian drove towards me. It was one of his happy days.

​The Model Y was produced by Ford Britain, Ford SAF and Ford Germany from 1932 to 1937. It was the first Ford automobile specifically designed for markets outside the United States, replacing the Model A in Europe.
